Hi to everyone! We are starting a new series of articles today, and we invite you to suggest the best players for each position! Let's start with central defenders!

Please leave a comment saying which you believe is the best DC in the game, and why!

But of all of these the two that i find i use the most are Sakho for £7-£10 m and David Luiz from Benfica for £5-£7.5 m.

They are a great partnership, and if trained and role modelled, become phenomenal. Sakho definite world class material, and Luiz's stats become unbelievable!

And all for less than 20m in the first season, which you would easily spend on a mexes for example.

Often u play them 2gether, they'll be a worldclass defender. Dont forget 2 contract a 18-20 def coach 2 increase their ability.. I suggest david court or claudio gaudino..

Sakho & Breno good solid young partnership with great potential.

I am looking for some decent Defenders(experienced prefer) which you can put ur relies on (not wonderkid)

By far Sakho after 1 season at buying him for 7.5m goes to well class defender

Calebe is SPECTACULAR. Bought him from Cruzeiro for 8m during winter and this summer Real Madrid is offering me almost 40m.

John Terry and Pepe are a damn good combination. Plus, their stats rank them higher than any other DC's in the game.

Suggest looking at David Luiz. Agree on Sakho as well.

Sakho is best played along side Vidic for 1 season then with Radu, by season three Get Regen Estaban from Barca, for about 6 million - 18 years old, but is a power house and between Sakho (37million)Radu (33Million) and Estaban(28Million) season four, you wont concede a goal

bought kompany from man city for hull 2 seasons later wanted by liverpool an is quality. also andreason for fulham is good cheap buy.

david luiz, benfica, great buy for me. £10m at the start of the game, real madrid want him for £25m the next season. great business.

I have RIO FERDINAND,EVANS,VIDIC,EVRA,VARGAS,SANTON,APAM its very stong and versatile and has a long shelf life.

FM09 is Nutz, Hard as fuk!

Fernando Meza from San Lorenzo , is cheap and hell of a player

IMO, has to be Mamadou Sakho and Loic Nestor. Sakho from PSG as MR CARR states, no doubt the best player in the game. But Nestor (Le Havre), get him in early, I was Watford, so slipped straight in, but now in 2015 and he is second only to Sakho. Awesome partnership

I have Pique, Breno and Fazio as the principal defenders.

Giorgio Chiellini - amazing stats, great leader, all round amazing player but is very expensive as obviously juve don't want to sell him.

my current defensive line up of ochoa(GK), santon(RB), lahm(LB), richards(CB) and chiellini(CB) only conceded 16 goals in the league last season!

Stefan Radu is , if not the best , one of the best DC's in the game.. I bought him for 13.5 milion euros on season two... I'm on season five and his value is 33.75 milion euros and he is now a world class DC . Peace

Federico Fazio for me is the best DC in fm09. a very reliable DC as he has superb pace, jumping and physique accompanied by great def qualities ( marking, tackling, positioning, concentration, bravery ). he has great overall mental and technical attr too.

and the plus point is, he is still young at 22 (if im not wrong), would come to most top division team in the opening season ( minimum fee clause ). making him the best DC in the game technical-wise and value-wise.

Grat all round ability. Excellent header, scores lots of goals from corners. Very young yet reliable...

Mamadou Sakho - plays for PSG in France, potentially the best defender in the game. Buy him early in the game, you can get him for around 5 million. Plays best as a centre back but as young i have started him out on the left.

Davide Santon - plays anywhere on the right, great utility player and has the ability to be a leading right back in the future.
