One of the most frequently asked questions I see is; how can I play with my friend? Click read me to find some easy steps as to how you can do this.

For the Experts:

Forward ports TCP/UDP 10093 and 10094.

For the Newbies:

If you are hosting:

Make sure your firewalls are off. If it still doesn’t work, I would switch off your anti-virus programs. Also switch such programs as PeerGuardian2 off as they may block the player you wish to join’s IP.

Forward ports TCP/UDP 10093 and 10094. If you do not know how to forward ports write down the model number of your router and go here  Click on your router and then find Football Manager (doesn’t matter if its not 2007 they all have the same ports).

Start Football Manager and click on preferences.

Click the Network tab, and make sure you have “Run as Server” ticked. Then you can chose a server name (really doesn’t matter what it is) and a password if you want to prevent random people from joining.

• Now, obviously click the confirm button, this will take you back to the main menu.
• If you want to start a new game, simply press new game and set your leagues up like you would, were you playing single-player. If you want to load an old game just click load game etc.

• Once you are in the actually saved/new game. You should be brought to the game status tab.

•  The important thing to note is the “Server IP Address”. The first IP is usually the LAN IP (one of your home network) and the second one is usually the WAN IP (one that identifies you on the internet). The first one isn’t important unless you are playing over your home network (in which case the server should show up by the server list on the other computer). Note down the second IP to give to whoever you want to join. If you only have one IP then give that one.

If you are joining someone else’s network game:

For people trying to connect to computers on their network, click refresh list by Local servers. For everyone else, look for the “Join Other Server” tab in the bottom-left corner and press it.

• Once here type in the IP address that your friend has given you and press ok. That should work now!
