Lilarc0r has done it again! This time with his English Conference North League Guide, a detailed look into the clubs, the budgets, the expectations and more! To look at the guide click read more, to give comments and feedback go here

This guide is also based on the 7.0 version of Football Manager 2007, so things can change in future versions. Like in the other guides, I won't make the comments too detailed, because I think that most people want to find things out themselves.  Wink

Conference North

Teams: 22
Matches: 42. From September - April.
Match rules: No player restrictions. 5 subs, maximum 3 used.
Promotion: Top team gets automatic promotion to Conference National. 2nd - 5th qualifies for play-off.
Relegation: The 3 lowest teams goes straight down.
Prize money for winning FA Trophy : £ 50,000

Alfreton Town

Result last season: 17th
Stadium: Town Ground
Capacity: 5000 (350 seated)
Training ground: Basic facilities
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 200,000
Media predicition: Bottom half of the table
Team expectations: Fight bravely against relegation
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,479 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 4,052 p/w
COMMENTS: Offensive team, but lacks one or two adequate midfielders. Attendance at matches could be a problem, depending on how well you do of course.

Barrow

Result last season: 14th
Stadium: Holker Street
Capacity: 4500 (1000 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 190,000
Media predicition: Mid-table position
Team expectations: Safe mid-table position. Rebuilding the squad.
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 3,503 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,074 p/w
COMMENTS: Carlisle a parent club (english league one team). 4-3-3 team, no left or right midfielders. Goalkeeper could be better.

Blyth Spartans

Result last season: 1st in UniBond Premier League
Stadium: Croft Park
Capacity: 6000 (300 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 275,000
Media predicition: Bottom half of the table
Team expectations: Stay clear of relegation
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 3,812 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 2,343 p/w
COMMENTS: The few players that are left are decent enough for the league, but it could be smart to invest in some defenders. Shouldn't be any problem I think.

Droylsden

Result last season: 4th
Stadium: The Butchers Arms Ground
Capacity: 3500 (350 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 160,000
Media predicition: Upper half of the table
Team expectations: Respectable league position
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,495 p/w
Current wage budget: £  3,823 p/w
COMMENTS: Slightly old squad (av. age: 27!). Could use a striker with good heading abilities (but of course, this depends on how you play).

Farsley Celtic

Result last season: 4th in Northern Premier League
Stadium: Throstle Nest
Capacity: 4000 (300 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 140,000
Media predicition: Relegation battlers
Team expectations: Fight bravely against relegation
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,739
Current wage budget: £ 3,800 p/w
COMMENTS: Apart from the attacking midfielders, this team needs a major cleanup if you're going to stay in the division.

Gainsborough Trinity

Result last season: 16th
Stadium: The Northolme
Capacity: 4000 (1015 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 170,000
Media predicition: Bottom half of the table
Team expectations: Fight bravely against relegation
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 3,580 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,165 p/w
COMMENTS: Extremely promising youngsters. Need a coach!

Harrogate Town

Result last season: 5th
Stadium: Wetherby Road
Capacity: 3800 (450 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 170,000
Media predicition: Upper half
Team expectations: Respectable league position
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 3,996 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,454 p/w
COMMENTS: Useless partnership with Huddersfield. Great midfielders, ok defence but no natural left defenders. Have no assistant manager.

Hinckley United

Result last season: 10th
Stadium: Marston Stadium
Capacity: 4329 (630 seated)
Training ground: Fairly basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 210,000
Media predicition: Top half
Team expectations: Respectable league position
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 6,785 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 6,843 p/w
COMMENTS: With two awesome wingers and a good DM, this team could work with a 4-1-3-2 tactic. Wage budget imploded. Lots of staff, 7 coaches!

Hucknall Town

Result last season: 12th
Stadium: Watnall Road
Capacity: 5000 (230 seated)
Training ground: Fairly basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 220,000
Media predicition: Mid-table
Team expectations: Safe mid-table position
Transfer budget: £ 5,000
Wage budget: £ 4,610 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 4,118 p/w
COMMENTS: Lots of decent defenders, but few strikers. Needs a coach, and the youth coach currently at the club might be a bit expensive.

Hyde United

Result last season: 11th
Stadium: Ewen Fields
Capacity: 4130 (660 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 150,000
Media predicition: Mid-table
Team expectations: Stay clear of relegation
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 3,985 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,295 p/w
COMMENTS: Good physio for being a Conference side. A class striker already in the team, but you should buy another one.

Kettering Town

Result last season: 6th
Stadium: Rockingham Road
Capacity: 6100 (1100 seated)
Training ground: Fairly basic
Youth facilities: Adequate + Youth Academy
Estimated value: £ 325,000
Media predicition: 1st
Team expectations: Respectable league position
Transfer budget: £ 15,000
Wage budget: £ 4,871 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 4,189 p/w
COMMENTS: No real captains in the team. Best midfielders and attackers in the division. Use the money to buy a class goalkeeper and some defenders. Extremely awful physio and scout, and no assistant manager.

Lancaster City

Result last season: 15th
Stadium: Giant Axe
Capacity: 3153 (513 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 130,000
Media predicition: Upper half
Team expectations: Safe mid-table position
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,378 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 4,075 p/w
COMMENTS: Two parent clubs (Crewe and Morecambe) can prove valuable. High team expectations, but not good enough squad. No coach and two physios, which makes no sence.

Leigh RMI

Result last season: 21st
Stadium: Hilton Park
Capacity: 7500 (2750 seated)
Training ground: Fairly basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 325,000
Media predicition: Relegation battlers
Team expectations: Fight bravely against relegation
Transfer budget: £ 500
Wage budget: £ 4,046 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,544 p/w
COMMENTS: Will move to a new stadium in July 2007 (capacity: 750). Needs better players in every position. Probably one of the more difficult teams to manage. Scarborough a "parent" club (in the same division, see below).

Moor Green

Result last season: 9th
Stadium: Damson Park
Capacity: 3050 (280 seated)
Training ground: Fairly basic
Youth facilities: Basic
Estimated value: £ 20,000
Media predicition: Mid-table
Team expectations: Stay clear of relegation
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,397 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,958 p/w
COMMENTS: Solid defence, lots of promising youngsters, but few decent forwards. Although the team focus mostly on youngsters, you'll need to build up a stronger first team to be able to stay in the division.

Nuneaton Borough

Result last season: 3rd
Stadium: Manor Park
Capacity: 6500 (500 seated)
Training ground: Fairly basic
Youth facilities: Basic + Youth academy
Estimated value: £ 300,000
Media predicition: 2nd
Team expectations: Respectable league position
Transfer budget: £ 10,000
Wage budget: £ 5,006 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 4,491 p/w
COMMENTS: Some serious goalkeeper problems. Use the money to buy a good one and some defenders, 'cause the defenders currently at the team are either too young or too old. Good advice: Get a youth coach. Parent club: Coventry.

Redditch United

Result last season: 20th
Stadium: Valley Stadium
Capacity: 5000 (400 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 22,000
Media predicition: Bottom half
Team expectations: Fight bravely against relegation
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 3,165 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 2,745 p/w
COMMENTS: Definately one of the weakest squads in the league. Needs lots of improvement.

Scarborough

Result last season: 21st in Conference National
Stadium: The McCain Stadium
Capacity: 6687 (3500 seated)
Training ground: Fairly basic
Youth facilities: Basic + Youth academy
Estimated value: £ 330,000 (£1.5M loan debt)
Media predicition: 3rd
Team expectations: Respectable league position
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,515 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,456 p/w
COMMENTS: As mentioned, £ 1.5 M loan debt at the start of the game, and £28k is paid each month until November 2011. Leigh and Whitby are feeder clubs, unsure if there's any use in that in the first years. Should try to get a parent club. Also a team with major goalkeeper problems.

Stalybridge Celtic

Result last season: 7th
Stadium: Bower Fold
Capacity: 6108 (1200 seated)
Training ground: Fairly basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 250,000
Media predicition: Top half
Team expectations: Respectable league position
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 3,495 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,054 p/w
COMMENTS: Half the team are out of contract, shouldn't be too difficult to sign new ones though. Got to rebuild the squad to avoid a bottom half position, and also need some coaches. Useless relations with Oldham (parent club).

Vauxhall Motors

Result last season: 18th
Stadium: Rivacre Park
Capacity: 2500 (350 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 95,000
Media predicition: Relegation battlers
Team expectations: Fight bravely against relegation
Transfer budget: £ 2,000
Wage budget: £ 3,233 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 2,664 p/w
COMMENTS: Tranmere (league one) a parent team. Some good youngsters and forwards, but use your money wisely to get a good central defender. Marek Szmid could be retrained to a striker.

Worchester City

Result last season: 8th
Stadium: St. George's Lane
Capacity: 4749 (1223 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 240,000
Media predicition: Top half
Team expectations: Respectable league position
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,987 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 4,487 p/w
COMMENTS: Fairly decent squad in total, but I think that it wouldn't hurt to get a better midfielder or two. Some injury-prone players. Not realistic to get promoted in the first season, if you compare with Nuneaton and Scarborough.

Workington

Result last season: 13th
Stadium: Borough Park
Capacity: 2500 (800 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 100,000
Media predicition: Mid-table position
Team expectations: Invest in new players, rebuild the squad. Safe mid-table position.
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,459 p/w
Current wage budget: £ 3,705 p/w
COMMENTS: Lots of players, few good enough for the first division. Try to sell most of the reserves and backups, and don't bother too much with the youngsters. Carlisle = parent club.

Worksop Town

Result last season: 19th
Stadium: Babbage Way
Capacity: 3000 (900 seated)
Training ground: Basic
Youth facilities: Minimal
Estimated value: £ 130,000
Media predicition: Relegation battlers
Team expectations: Fight bravely against relegation
Transfer budget: £ 0
Wage budget: £ 4,434
Current wage budget: £ 4,115
COMMENTS: By far the best goalkeeper in Conference North. Many good players, especially in the defence. Can't say that I understand the media and team predictions, top half team in fairness (challenged for promotion twice in my game). That being said, some new strikers would not hurt.
