Wayno's Youngsters Shortlist PDF Print E-mail
Written by Wayno

Ever wanted a shortlist which had the young stars? Well this article boasts no less than 50 players who are available at the start of the first season for £5mil or less. The players are all 21 years old or less so none of them are the complete article. Players range from youth academy prospects to first team starters. Every player has a scout card and my own thoughts also. Enjoy.

Download the shortlist Here!

Andres Guardado – Fantastic player, doesn’t cost that much. £4,500,000 at the most. Go into any sides starting XI. Will get a permit because he is a regular in the national side. Turns in to a wonderkid as well. Probably one of the best players in the game.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Antonio Adan – Hot goalkeeping prospect at Real Madrid, should cost around £2.5M but he might not want to leave the illustrious Los Merengues for just any old club. Pretty young as well. In my opinion he’s the better option out of him and Shust.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Augusto Fernandez – Looks great, the only downside is his lack of pace but he looks fantastic, especially his Technical and Mental stats. £4.5M is a good deal.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Aurelien Teaudors – It says he can be signed for free but that’s at the start of the season, and it’s not really a ‘free’ transfer, it’s an “approach to sign” job. Still a good prospect and if he signs a new deal they’ll sell him for less than £500,000. Possibly less than that.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Aythami – Spanish centre back who can also play DMC, looks great. He was good in FM06 as well, should cost around £2.1M.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Bibras Natkhu  Doesn’t look fantastic but my scout likes him. AMC, retrain to FC maybe. One for the future obviously. Approach to sign for £250,000. Although if you make a bid you might get him for less.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Bogdan Shust – Looks a solid keeper, throwing is a real let down though. Probably won’t get a permit but looks like he’d be in the national set up. I’d probably look elsewhere because of his £5M tag and no chance of a permit. Unless I was playing in Spain etc.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Bojan – Someone posted this on the CMFrenzy forum and thought I’d scout him. Looks a good prospect, only 16. Approach to sign would cost £1,300,000. Similar type of player to Eto’o as well.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Bruno Mezenga – Touted as the next Adriano, although his finishing is woeful he is only 18 and £3.5-£4M isn’t that bad for a really hot prospect.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Carlos Elias – One for the feeder clubs. No permit but is only 16 and approach to sign him. Physical stats are a bit on the poor side. Natural AMC and FC + Competant AMR, definite purchase.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Celsinho – Extremely versatile, Natural MC, AMC and FC as well as accomplished AMR. He’s Brazilian with no second nationality so he would need a work permit. 17 at the start of the game as well.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Cesar Lindado – Approach to sign will cost £150,000 probably won’t get a permit but he’s only 16. Stick him in your Feeder club for a season or two and watch him blossom. Slow but has good stats for a 16 year old.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Cristian Sanchez – Atlas player, I had a £1M bid accepted but you could get him for less. Scout reckons he could be as good as Gary Neville, looks like he could be retrained to play at Left Back.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Didier Digard – Fantastic prospect, probably good enough to slot in to the first XI of a lot of Premiership sides. He starts at Le Havre but has moved to Porto here on a free transfer. Versatile too. Only player given 5 stars by a scout of mine so far

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Distel Zola – Looks a decent player and only 18 years old. I wouldn’t pay £1,700,000 for him though, can be retrained to play AMC but his stats say he probably wouldn’t suit playing there. Not bad really.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Edu (Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke) – He’s at Lyn Oslo, Nigerian and Cost £1M but never got a permit. Scout says he could be as good as Cristiano Ronaldo. Great bargain, versatile but his ‘ambition’ may mean he might not be interested in a lower side.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Ever Guzman – Another Mexican prospect. Good finishing and composure and my scout said he’d cost in the region of £1.3M which is pretty good. His mental stats let him down a bit.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Ezequiel Garay – Argentinean centre back. He’s starting his second season in Spain so if you choose not to bid for him he may get Spanish citizenship at the start of the third season and will not require a permit. Looks great, mental stats are a bit low but shouldn’t cost much.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Fabio Paim – Young right winger with a fantastic amount of flair. Pace is lacking but I reckon he could cut it at lower placed teams in the Premiership. £1,400,000 isn’t that much for an 18 year old really.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

{mospagebreak}

Fernando Cavenaghi – Scout Card says £7,500,000 but he’ll get cheaper as the season goes on (Scout Card is done in August). Probably could get him at the start for £6,000,000 with a few clauses. Finishing is a bit low but his all round stats are pretty amazing really. Scout says better than Wayne Rooney as well.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Francisco Guillermo Ochoa – Mexican goalkeeper, looks as good as in FM06. No caps and no second nationality so again permit issues. Looks good if a little bit pricey at £5.75M - £6M. Could be as good as Van der Sar according to my scout.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Freddy Adu – Everyone knows who he is. Shouldn’t cost that much but would probably want a top flight club. At 17 he’s nowhere near the finished article, probably send him to a feeder club.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Gareth Bale – Wanted by Liverpool in real life as well as Manchestr United, Tottenham and Arsenal. Could cost over £4M. But he’s only 17, capped and looks a fantastic prospect. Looks like he can be retrained to right back or centre back as well!

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Giovani dos Santos – Mexican AMC from Barca, was good in the other FM games looks a good prospect here, although Barca want around £5,000,000 for him. It’s a lot to invest in someone who will end up going out on loan really. If you’re someone like Chelsea then that’s not too bad then. Great dribbling, pace, flair and passing. Star man.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Ion (Ion Erice Dominguez) – Doesn’t look fantastic. And £1,800,000 looks a bit much for a central midfielder with low passing but he could be a great player in a few years time. He is only 20, and no permit because he is Spanish. Creativity is good.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Issiar Dia - £1.2M roughly for this versatile young forward who can also play at AML or AMR and retrained to AMC. Bargain and no need for a permit. Finishing is a bit low, and his natural fitness is awful but he still looks good.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Jose Sosa – Looks fantastic for an estimated £2,000,000. Permit will be an issue but just look at his stats. Got to be a must buy for clubs with some money to burn. Natural AMC accomplished FC. Probably very good in the free role as well.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Juan de Dios Hernandez – Physical stats slightly let down what could be one of the bargains of the game at £130,000 - £200,000. Can be retrained to play upfront. Only 20 years old but Mexican and has no second nationality. Feeder club job? Looks a gem in my opinion.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Kevin Larsen – Great youngster, cost very little, about £500,000. Plays left back or left wing and positions in between. When I signed him and stuck him up for loan there were LOADS of clubs wanting to loan him. Buy him!

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Kristofer Haestad – Shown here as a Rosenborg player but he starts at Start, cost them £1.3M. He’s a bargain and I’d consider him a must buy. His stats aren’t outstanding but he’s good, young and a consistent performer.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Kwabena Agouda – Promising striker, good pace and long shots but his natural fitness and other physical stats let him down. Will cost less than £100K. Bargain.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Lebohang Mokoena – Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder. He should cost around £350,000 at the most. He’s versatile and cheap but there may be permit issues. Sorry about the lack of detail in the scout card.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Leo Schwechlen– Hot prospect at Monaco, looks decent, centre back and sweeper only though. Low natural fitness is a put off for me. Still worth a punt.

 Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Leyrielton – Brazilian RWB who can also play as a RB and MR. I’d probably play him as an MR because of his low tackling ability. Looks a great prospect, should cost in the region if £5M but has a release clause of £8M.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Loic Abenzoar – Natural right back and accomplished centre back. Although his physicality suggests that he shouldn’t really be employed as a centre back. Could retrain him to left back and have some really good versatility in him. £1.4M is a big asking price for a player who wouldn’t get in to most top 10 sides in the Premiership. Certainly the lower half though. Amazing at freekicks.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Luis Jimenez – Fantastically versatile, starts at Ternana but show in here at Sevilla. Cost them £1,800,000. Spanish as second nationality and can be retrained to play left wing. Got to be worth a try. Fantastic amount of flair, useful for coming on from the bench.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Luka Modric – Shown here as an Arsenal player but he starts at NK Dinamo, cost them £1.8M. He looks great, a wonderkid, extremely versatile with great teamwork and work rate. A real gem.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Other:

Marcel Schoun – Starts at Stuttgart and cost Monaco £400,000. Looks a really good prospect and cheap. Natural DRC and can be retrained to DL, lovely!

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Marcelo Grohe – Pictured here at Chelsea, he starts at Gremio and cost them £2.6M. He has German as his second nationality so no permit needed. Looks a good prospect.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

{mospagebreak}

Marco Ruben – Spectacular pace acceleration and agility. Decent finishing and would only cost around £2M, but again, permit issues. Looks great.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Nathan Porritt – A player who was in the 2006 BBC documentary about the corruption in English football. He was the player Frank Arnesen said was “99.9% certain” of him joining Chelsea.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Nathan Sturgis – Really versatile Yanky-doodle. He can play all across the back, DMC and MC. Needs a permit, in the U21 sides a lot though so he might get one.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Nicolas Millan – Made his debut at 14 years old I think. Chelsea also wanted him if I recall correctly. Decent prospect, approach to sign shouldn’t cost too much either. Low physical stats and low finishing for a natural striker is a put off but he’s only 15.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Omar Esparza – ANOTHER Mexican. He is fantastically versatile. £1,700,000 is all he costs. Bargain! Another Mexican must have. Permit issues though

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Pablo Barrientos – Looks good, versatile but he has moved to FC Moscow so he won’t be considering a move straight away. Permit required.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Pedro Leon – He’s shown as a Real Madrid player here but he starts at Murcia, cost them £4.5M. Looks a quality player indeed. Natural right sided player but can also play through the centre.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Renato (Renato Eduardo de Oliveira Ribeiro) – On loan at Corinthians but is contracted to Atletico Mineiro. Looks like a good all round midfielder. Scout says he has the potential to be better than Cristiano Ronaldo. Has a minimum release clause of £6.5M. But I bought him for £2,300,000.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Samuel Valdivia Anton – Rayo midfielder, few other clubs interested at a bargain price of £50,000. Buy him and loan him out and he’ll probably turn in to a superstar. Great passing and fantastic flair. Got to buy him at that price!

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Sidnei – Shown here as an Atletico Paranaense player but plays for Internacional. Cost Atleticao Paranaense £425,000, not a free transfer as the scout card says. Future Brazilian national team centre back. Future star.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Simon Vukcevic – Looks good for a 20 year old, versatile but would cost in the region of £5M. He also needs a permit. Natural AMC, Accomplished AML AMR MC. Competent DMC and ML.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Stefan Furstner – not bad, strength could be better, Might not leave Bayern for any old club. £300,000 for a good prospect is rather good.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Steve Pinau – Cost around £210,00 - £500,000 top whack. Looks a good prospect, decent pace and passing. Dribbling will improve and his long shots don’t look too bad so they’ll improve as well. Plays AMC as well as MC and is touted as the next Platini.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Vedran Corluka – I love this guy, looks solid. Only costs £2.5M and he is an accomplished centre back along with being a natural right back. He can also be retrained to left back. Hit wonderkid status as soon as I signed him. Didn’t get a permit though.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Vincent Degré – Keeper at Metz, apparently they only want £3,000 for him. If that is the case he’s the biggest bargain in the game.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Vyacheslav Hleb – Borther of Alexandr Hleb of Arsenal. I bought him when I played at Newcastle and he was superb. Not too sure if I would sign him as Manchester United manager though. Cost less than £100,000 and will get a permit. Lovely.

Screenshot:

Scout Card Screenshot:

Yilmaz Aydin – Looks a good prospect, versatile, retrain-able to a few other positions. £4,400,000 is a bit much though. Needs a permit and probably unlikely to get one.
