WC 2006: Tim Cahill
(0 votes)
Written by k8oylos
Australia fired 20 shots on goal yesterday, compared to a mere 6 from the japanese. However the old football rule, that the one who misses the chances is defeated would have come to being, if it hadn't been for Tim Cahill

The Everton midfielder comes to prove what we have seen in 3 out of our 4 previous choises for player of the day: In a World Cup game, it is the guts that count the most! He came in late, but with a bravery of 19 and an important match attribute of 17, noone could dount he could be the man.

His preferred move according to FM is: gets in the opposition area. Which he did very well, scoring twice in 6 minutes for an Australian win. HIs position of 14 and anticipation of 18 helped him be at the right place, at the right time in order to benefit of the mess in the Japanese area at the 84th minute.

What FM failed to predict was his second nice goal. With a Long shots of merely 9, his successful effort proves that FM2006 can be sometimes wrong!
