This guides purpose is to help first time users to the game and to also help managers who don’t know what some parts of the game mean. I have put together this guide to help those people. This guide can be followed by anyone who is manger of any club on the game as it covers all the basic parts of management. This guide will explain things such as:

Managering a weak side with lots of cash
If you have chosen to manage a weak side with lots of cash and you are trying so hard to find a decent player to come and play for your team then you should try offering the player the maximum wage your club can afford and you should also add a minimum release clause to make sure that if anything bad happens to the club, the player can leave your club for another club for a certain amount of money which is usually set at around £10 � 25 million. If the player is a striker you should try offering him a scoring bonus. If the player is a midfielder then you should offer him an assist bonus and if it is a goalkeeper you should offer the player a clean sheet bonus. This maybe being around £1,000 � 3,000 per game. To confirm the signing of the player a signing on fee must be offered to the player. This would be set from £1 � 4 million depending on the quality of the player. Lastly if the player you are trying to buy is a world-class superstar then there is much luck that he would want to stay with your club for a long period. This is why you should offer the player a one or two year contract. Then when you have captured the player you offer him a new contract and the player then will want to commit his foreseeable future to the club.
   

Squad Status
Your first day at your new club should be spent taking a look at the players who are already at the club. After looking at the players, the manager should then pick which players he thinks will be good at the club and also the players who he thinks will have no future at the club. To eliminate the players the manager could take a look at the salary screen, which you can get to by pressing on the finances option. When the manager is on this the players will be shown in as needed players and then at the bottom of the list will be the players who are no longer needed at the club. The players who are no longer wanted should then be transfer listed, loan listed or even offered to the clubs that are interested in their signature. When you get back onto that menu you should take a look at the important players in your team and you should offer them a new contract and you should try and get them to sign a long-term contract, which would be situated over 5 � 8 years. This will then hold onto the players value when the transfer window is open. if the player is left and they only have one year left on their contract then that player may be able to leave the club under the Bosman ruling. This is where the club will get nothing for the player if the player decides to sign for another club.


Signing Players.
Before you even press continue, make sure you have looked through the transfer market over and over again. You should also look for the bosman rulings, unprotected contract players, transfer listed and also the unemployed players.


Cancelling friendly matches
Sometime just after you start your managing career there is a friendly match, which is set up for the day(s) after. I would recommend cancelling the friendly match


Selling your best players.
Teams like Bolton and West Brom are in danger of receivership. Halfway through the season they might get 12 points taken from them for the team going into receivership. So research your finances and if you feel that your club is in HUGE dept then you will have to sell your best players for the highest end of their valuation. Then build your team again following the sale of your best players by signing bosman or non-contracted players.


The first step
When you first take over a club, the first thing you want to do is check out your squad. This will tell the manager your strongest areas of the squad and it will also show you where you have plenty of depth. For example, you may only have one good striker, which means that there would be no point in playing a 4,3,3 formation as you don’t have the players to make that formation. You may also want to look at a few of your players abilities, to see what style of player you have, as you may have players who play best with fast tempo and attacking football, if this is not the case then you don’t want to set everyone to defend and counter attack,


The Formation
the biggest and most important part of your tactic will be the formation. The best tip I can give you is to start with a simple formation, as the players will need to settle with the new manager so it isn’t such a good idea to go straight into a 3,4,2,1 formation or something like that. So if you start with:

4,4,2
4,3,3
4,5,1

Each of the above formations will be different for every manager and also different for every different team. When you take over as manager of a club it is best to have a good idea of how you want the team to play in the future and then you should slowly mould the team into that role. This would be achieved by working with the existing squad and also by training the players in the way, which you think, is good. You may also want to sign some new players so that you can achieve your managerial goal.


Team instructions
I cannot say enough times about the fact that you have to play to your TEAMS STRENGTHS. No matter how much you want to play that free flowing attacking football; you should take your time in moulding your team into that tactic. Always play to your teams strengths and if you don’t like the teams current style of play then sign some new players, don’t go wild and sign a whole new team as your players wont be able to settle with the other players that have been brought into the club. This will cause a disruption in the squad and it could also lower morale at the club


Player instructions
Firstly look at your players individual attributes and see if they have high dribbling skills and then go through the players and find who has the best in each activity and then choose that player for the certain activity.

Signing new players
It is a key part of your game to bring in new signings for the team you are managing. There shouldn’t just be one signing made. You should use your transfer budget wisely and you should also bring in new players, which will fit straight into the tactic, which you’re playing.
