Defenders' training A lot of overloading (defensive) and set pieces (defensive) are needed in this section. This will help your defenders understand how to act in certain situations, such as corners and free kicks. I would also advice a lot of strength exercises (especially for central defenders) so weight lifting should be in at least twice a week. Agility is important for wingbacks, and so are some sprints. Just try not to exhaust them too much. It goes without saying that heading is vital for DCs, and closing down sessions will benefit all. |
