The first formation we tested was the " Fottman's formation"
It is a variation of the classic 4-4-2 with the DMC marching backwards from an MC to a DMC position, whereas the wingers march forward in attack.

Settings were as follows: Passing: Direct
Tackling: Hard
Mentality: Attacking
Zonal Marking
Counter Attack

Player Instructions:
Closing down: Stand off

Aston Villa
The formation looked to be a really promising one, so we expected the results with great anticipation. However the results were not as good for Aston Villa. The team didn't make it, and manager Jim k8oylos had to go off early!

Aston Villa ended the year with 43 in the league table, having scored only 34 goals with a minus 19.

Q.P.R.
We were disappointed in the first place, so we were surprised to see the results produced by Q.P.R.

Q.P.R ended in the second place of the league and won promotion to the 1st Division. Having lost only 6 games and with only 26 goals conceded, they also had some attacking problems, with only 64 goals for the team's strikers.

Not strange at all that the board and fans were extremely pleased by manager Ioanna saviola performance! View picture of club confidence: 25kb

Concluding
The obvious conclusion was that the fottmans tactic is a 4-4-2 variation which promises a lot. With a solid defensive structure, guaranteed by the 4 men in the defense and the midfielder acting as a DMC without ball, it is especially suggested for minor teams, but could also work for major clubs as well.
