When I first started the game, I had a strange feeling. I would really play Liverpool, because who dont wants to hear the song You never walk alone . My first day at Liverpool was one that I dont forget that fast. I looked at my team and decided that I first need to sell a few players. Hamann, Murphy, Biscan, Heskey, Traore, Carragher all average players, who are earning a lot of salary every week. I sold heskey for 13.25 to Chelsea. Traore on loan to PSG and Carragher for 5.5 to Aston Villa. Hamann was a different story because he is injured the first three months when you start the game. It was not a problem getting lose of Murphy. Barcelona and Real Madrid where targeting him, and I decided to accept an offer of Real Madrid of 16 million. So I now had 39 million to spend, so I first bought arteta from Rangers of 4 million. After that I looked at my favoured squad Ajax and discovered that the new Roberto Carlos was Free on next January, so that was my second incoming transfer.( Maxwell) I really needed a good striker, and decided to target Carlos Tevez van Boca juniors. 18 millions and 50% of the next sale was enough to secure the services of the second Michael Owen. After that I looked up for a dmc and I found the new Vieira, named David Mendes da Silva. Absolute great young player, who can learn a lot. I Also needed a defender left/centre. After a long and frustrated search I decided to sign Mellberg from Aston Villa and john obrien from ajax.Aston Villa received 7 million and ajax 13 million. I sold Biscan to Real sociedad ( 5 million and hamman to Stuttgart, 8.25 million. I was a bit lucky to find a dmlc, namely Mike Zonneveld from NEC, who only cost 2.7 million. I decided to play 5-3-2 whit attacking wing position, passing through the middle, and arteta a free role. The first four matches where quite disappointing. The first match at anfield against Tottenham I didnt reach further than 1-1, and scored the equaliser at the 86th minute. ( Tevez) the second match I lost to Arsenal 3-0. The thirth match was at home, Leicester city. Tevez was in sensational form and scored two goals and three assists. Owen, Arteta and Gerard where the other goalscorers. After I brought steve Finnan in (dmrc) and put Gerard in the midfield position, things where getting better. The next 6 matches I won 4, and played two times 2-2. I lost the thirth round League cup to Norwich The first round Uefa cup was easy, I scored 10 goals in two matches against BATE. I already created the new Owen. Believe me, you can buy goals = Tevez.
Absolute goalmachine. Scores goals for fun. After 19 league matches I was placed at the 3 position, after Newcastle and Arsenal. I had a few problems at the right centre position, so I decided to buy albrechtsen. ( a Danish version of Hyppia). I reached the fourth round of the Uefa Cup, and had to play against Barcelona. A bad draw but I had changes because Kluivert and Ronaldinho where injured. Tevez scored in 26 matches 31 goals, and Owen 26 matches 11 goals. I decided to put Owen on the bench and started with Tallec in the team. In Camp Nou the score was Barcelona - Liverpool 1-4. Great play by midfield and a solid defence. Tevez the killer, 3 goals. Maxwell was arrived at Anfield and I bought a yound midfield player, Kristiansen. His preferred food was either, so he could play on both sides of the midfield. Kewell was the king of mlc and arteta mc so kristiansen had to battle with Gerard. Gerard is a good player on the right zone, but not in a three man midfield, so kristiansen took his change and did not screw up. 6 matches, 1 goal and 3 assists. The FA cup was very disappointing for Liverpool, again against a little cup I was beaten. This time by Barnsley, I lost at Anfield. You can imagine what the reaction was from my board
I had to play in the uefa quarter final to another Spanish club, Valencia. They where to strong for Liverpool. At Anfield they scored an important away goal. The two goals of Kewell where not enough for the match in Spain. I was beaten by two goals of mista. But the next four league games where important. I had to play Newcastle ( away), Arsenal ( home), Chelsea ( away ) en Blackburn ( away). I played 2-2 at Newcastle. Halftime I was down 2-0 but a supreme playing kewell hit Newcastle. At home playing Arsenal Owen was marvellous. He feld the pressure of Tevez on him, and he decided to score goals. Owen - Arsenal 4-1. Great result, and I was now only 2 point behind the league leaders, Arsenal, with 7 matches to play. Next match to Chelsea. I admit, a bit of luck, because Chelsea missed Duff, Crespo, Veron and Terry. Hasselbaink missed at 0-0 a penalty, Cudiccini get the red card and it was Tevez / Owen showtime. In 8 minutes they scored three goals. The two goals in the 83 and 89 minute of Mutu came to late. Great result, which I continued against Blackburn. 3-1. two goals of kristiansen and his first goal ever of Maxwell. Arsenal start losing points and after I lost to Aston Villa and won three times a road I was in first position. The last match was at Fulham. A match which I dont forget. At halftime Fulham - Liverpool 1-2. ( tevez, his 40th goal) Arsenal was leading 2-0 at home against Tottenham, so I had to win, at the beginning of the match I was leading with one point more than Arsenal. But than Steed Malbranque and Davis changed the season dramatically and in 20 minutes it was 3-2. I was in panic, because arsenal where leading comfortably 3-0. But then the Tevez show started again, first he scored a powerful header in the 78th minute, and four minutes later a superb pass by Maxwell and Tevez clean through on goal. I closed my eyes, and a few seconds later I looked up: penalty. Van der Sar received the red card and kewell was placing the ball on the spot. What a exciting finish of the season. But: Kewell misses. What a bat luck, only 8 minutes to play and I had to score a goal. The clock was my enemy, 7 minutes, 6 minutes. What a dramatic miser of Kewell. Albrechtsen, Hyppia Gerard, Tevez all my headers where upfront when Arteta took the corner. 87 minute: Hyppia forces the goal with a header: HITS THE CROSS BAR. I could throw my computer through the window Tevez shot was held by Taylor, Owen shot was blocked by Melville. Three minutes injury time was not enough. I draw to Fulham. What a disappointing afternoon. I finished second after Arsenal. I hate Fulham. For the coming season I signed kapo, emre, stankovic, wood, barry on a free transfer, and I made an offer of 32 million to van der vaart of Ajax.
